Welcome to the Live 5 News WCSC Rise & Shine Summer Food Drive! Live 5 News WCSC is proud to partner with Lowcountry Food Bank to help ensure that children and families across coastal South Carolina have the nourishing breakfast they need to thrive this summer and all year long! 16% of children throughout the 10 coastal counties of South Carolina are food insecure which translates to 50,000 children. Make a meaningful gift today, and your support will help fill the breakfast table for Lowcountry families in need this summer.
How to participate:
Make a monetary donation. Make a gift online, and Lowcountry Food Bank will convert your dollars to a nutritious breakfast for children and families who experience food insecurity across the 10 coastal counties of South Carolina.
Donate non-perishable breakfast items. Participants can drop off items between June 1-July 31 at the locations listed on this page. Recommended items include cereal, grits, oatmeal, peanut butter, canned fruit (in fruit juice, not syrup), dried fruit, granola/cereal bars, and nutrition drinks/shakes.
