In 2024, the Lowcountry Food Bank worked closely with its network of 240 partner agencies to expand service opportunities for their neighbors. Through generous donor support, grant opportunities, and continued backing from our retail partners like Aldi and Food Lion, the Agency Relations department was able to supply our partners with dozens of new refrigeration units to store more dairy and protein, walk-in refrigeration units to allow the partners to store more fresh produce, shopping carts to allow for a more comfortable shopping experience for neighbors, and shelving units to allow the agencies to display the variety of healthy items they have available.

Grant awards from US Foods, the Tepper Foundation, and Feeding America allowed the Lowcountry Food Bank to expand our food locker services in Horry County with the addition of new lockers at North Strand Helping Hand in Longs, Shepherd of the Sea in Garden City, and The Shepherd’s Table in Conway. These lockers add more flexibility for neighbors seeking food assistance at times more convenient for them and have already helped distribute over 30,000 pounds of food.
